  • Suriya's 'NGK' censored with clean 'U'

    The most awaited Suriya's 'NGK – Nandha Gopala Kumaran' directed by acclaimed director Selvaraghavan is all set to hit the screens on May 31. Touted to be an action political thriller, the film stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi as the female lead along with Jagapathi Babu, Ilavarasu, Bala Singh, Ponvannan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Ramkumar Ganesan will be seen in essential roles. The latest is that the film has been cleared by the Censor Board with a clean 'U' certificate. The teaser and the trailer of the film have already raised the expectations for the film. Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, ‘NGK’ has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is working with Suriya after sometime now. Suriya plays a graduate, who aspires to make it big in politics in the film.

    Konkona Sensharma starrer short film ‘A Monsoon Date’ which sees the versatile actress playing a transsexual woman will be screened at the DFW South Asian Film Festival 2019 in North America. Directed by Tanuja Chandra and written by Gazal Dhaliwal, the short film narrates a touching story of a woman who is about to reveal her deepest secret to her lover. ‘A Monsoon Date’ starts with an eventful, rainy evening when a young woman is on her way to meet her first date. On the road, she comes across some bittersweet moments involving a series of strangers and a storm brews inside her. Today, she has finally decided to reveal a heart-breaking truth about her past to the young man.

  • Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Darbar' wraps up its first schedule in Mumbai

    South Superstar Rajinikanth was last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Petta’ along with a big star cast. Thalaivar will be next seen in AR Muragadoss's 'Darbar'. Touted to be an action entertainer, it has now been confirmed that the first schedule of 'Darbar' has been wrapped up at Mumbai with the second schedule planned to flag off towards the end of this month. The fans of the actor were overjoyed when the makers, Lyca Production announced the film will be released for Pongal of 2020 making this movie the 11th Pongal release for Rajnikanth after this year's 'Petta'. Like 'Petta', 'Darbar' also features a stellar cast ensemble Nayanthara in the female lead along with, Yogi Babu, Dalip Tahil, Jatin Sarna, Prateik Babbar and others in important supporting roles.

  • Dalip Tahil is a part of Rajinikanth's 'Darbar'

    It had been earlier reported that AR Murugadoss started filming for his Rajinikath-starrer copdrama 'Darbar', in which Prateik Babbar plays the antagonist’s son, in mid-April. Now, we have learnt that the film also features Dalip Tahil as a senior officer to the South superstar’s cop. “My character supports Rajini bhai’s drive to clean the city of goons. I started filming with him at a hotel in Goregaon,” informed Dalip, who has worked with Rajinikanth in the 1995 actioncrime film 'Aatank Hi Aatank'. They had done another film together which didn’t release. “I was so happy to meet him after 24 years. I didn’t recognise him when he arrived on the first day as Rajini bhai is looking like a 25-year-old boy. He has maintained himself well. When I told him that, he had a good laugh,” the actor said, adding that his portions will wrap up with the Mumbai schedule. The Hindi-Tamil-Telugu trilingual also features Nayanthara.

  • Mahesh Babu and team celebrate the success of ‘Maharshi’

    Mahesh Babu has proved his mettle in several movies now, from Murari, Okkadu, Athadu, Pokiri, Dookudu, to Bharat Ane Nenu.   • Rumours refuted about 'Vikram Vedha' remake with Venkatesh

    Venkatesh is currently shooting for ‘Venky Mama’ with Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput, under the direction of KS Ravindra with Thaman S’ music. Recently, rumours were abuzz that the actor will be hosting the third season of ‘Bigg Boss’, apart from acting in the ‘Vikram Vedha’ remake with Nara Rohith. While rumours have been afloat since long about the film being remade in Telugu, the cast of the same keeps changing and looks like now it’s Venkatesh and Nara Rohith’s turn. Nara Rohith has neither confirmed nor denied the same, but the social media page of Suresh Productions has denied news of Venkatesh starring in the film. They wrote, “There is no truth in reports doing rounds in media that #VenkateshDaggubati garu is doing ‘Vikram Vedha’ Telugu remake. He is currently busy filming for #VenkyMama. The next films will be announced shortly.”

  • Mahesh Babu clears the air about the alleged rift with Sukumar

    During the recently concluded pre-release event of ‘Maharshi’, Mahesh Babu shared his experience while working for the sensible film and praised director Vamshi Paidipally to the core. While doing so, the 43-year-old actor mentioned that “These days, if there is a slight delay for even two months, directors who have good scripts are running away to other heroes. However, in a surprise move, the ace filmmaker went ahead and announced his next outing with Allu Arjun. The Ghattamaneni scion also went on to tweet that he is not collaborating with Sukumar due to creative differences and thus, the project got shelved.

    Rajinikanth is currently in Mumbai shooting for his next film 'Darbar' in which the superstar will be seen donning the cop avatar. As per reports making rounds on the internet, the film which also features Nayanthara in the female lead has been halted as a few college students pelted stones at the crew in Mumbai. According to a report, the crew of the film were taking all possible measures to avoid any more pictures from the sets to be leaked online and therefore tried to keep the students away from the shoot which in returned angered them and they ended up pelting stones at the crew. This incident was taken up to the college management by director AR Murugadoss and is currently reported to be looking for an alternate location to shoot the film. 'Darbar' has been making headlines since its inception as the south superstar Rajinikanth will be seen playing the role of a cop after almost 25 years.
